Our beginnings.

Neighborhood Explorer was formerly known as 9b.

While our name has evolved, our purpose has not. From the beginning, we’ve believed in using the right information for the right reasons — and that belief remains central to who we are today.

As we’ve grown, Neighborhood Explorer has become a clearer expression of our mission: using data as a force for good, grounded in care for community.
